Hi I'm Jenny and I am so excited about joining tonight!! I love sunflowers well no actually I'm obsessed with sunflowers. I have 179 of them growing in my back yard right now. I love the way they grow so tall!! They are so beautiful. I planted 200 seeds so 179 was doing really good. I'm kind of sad because summer is over now and my sun flowers will soon die. Its so beautiful to see the way the birds just love the seeds, the way the sun shines through my garden of flowers, and I really love sharing their beauty with my friends and family. I spend all of my time out here with my flowers. I do have some other plants too though.... I have a rose bush that has beautiful red roses. I also have tulips, marigolds, and lots of lilly of the valley. My yard looks awesome!! My problem though is that I can't grow plants inside. I've tried so many times and they always eventually die. I hope someone can give me some good tips on growing indoors!! |

Perhaps you need some plants that don't require direct sunlight. I grow philodendrons like crazy and pathos. They don't require sunlight, just indirect lighting. I have vines of them that I have allowed and aided to grow around my walls, up near the ceiling. They bring a bit of the garden inside for me to enjoy when the seasons have done in my outside garden 'til spring.

Wow 179! I had a couple dozen growing off of the west side of my house. They did very well. I wish there was a smaller specie of sunflower that could be grown indoor. Something about them just brightens your day. I love coming across fields of them. I could live there.
