Green Gardener
|
Hello.I live in Lancaster Pennsylvania, and no, I am not Amish or Mennonite.
I have been a gardener all my life. I am over 50. I have a garden pond, (185 gals) with 10 goldfish.Regular feeder kind, no fancies..I have also been a tropical fish enthusiast for all my life.I started tropicals when I was 5. One of my main problems is the local deer population.I live about a mile from the State Game Lands and in the area I live, is all rural farming. I only have an acre of ground, but because all the farmers in our area don't allow hunting, we now have a sustained herd of herbivores with a count to about 16 members who go thru my property every night.I do not have a fence and to fence in an area for vegetables, I would have to use a fence over 7 feet tall. I am surrounded by corn and tobacco fields. I am also an avid birdwatcher.I encourage the birds to nest and live in my gardens. Hope to hear from fellow gardeners and birders. ![]() |
