What's up all - Garden Plants and Gardening Forum

I'm a new guy looking to learn as much as I can. Just recently was ordered to make my front yard look nicer by the community, so I just did a little planting with a friend of mine and now i want to do a lot more and I thought a forum would definitely be helpful, so here I am. Hopefully I'll be able to help and be helped here.

One question, I was wondering what things I should read considering I have zero experience or knowledge in gardening. I know there's a lot of things I need to learn, especially terminology if I expect to survive. Thanks.

Does that by any chance include growing vegetables, or do you have rules against that? ;-) Where do you live?
