Many people love buying wicker furniture for their homes, especially if they are lucky to have a garden, an attached terrace or a spacious balcony seating area. Generally, though, their knowledge about wicker furniture is very limited. For example, they assume that wicker furniture is made of cane. Well, although cane is the predominantly favoured material of most wicker furniture, reed and bamboo also fall within this category.

Wicker furniture is basically of 2 types – one made by simply varnishing the sandy surfaces of raw materials; the other made by spinning strands on a loom and then giving them a resin touch.
