If you are a beginner gardener, then there are a few things in particular that you are going to want to know. You should never feel as though you are slow or as though you do not know enough to start gardening, because this can really never be true. You have to practice in order to get good at something, and the same goes for gardening. However for beginner gardening there are a few things that you will want to know to get yourself off on the right foot, which will be discussed here.

One of the most important beginner gardening tips involves making sure that you don’t start off too big. This is the biggest mistake that novice gardeners make, and it often results in creating an array of problems for them. They soon find themselves overwhelmed by what they have created for themselves and they end up feeling discouraged and even guilty.
It is better to start off small and then work your way up as you feel you can handle it, rather than putting too much on yourself to begin with. Remember, beginner gardening or not, it is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, and so it should really never feel like a task or chore.
Another thing you want to remember is to start sowing early in the season. Also remember that if you are growing vegetables you should only grow as much as you and your family are going to eat, so that you will not have any going to waste. Then as you become more of a seasoned gardener, you can start growing more and even selling it, if that interests you and if you have the available time and effort to spend on it.
Another important beginner gardening tip is to do your research on vegetables and plants before planting and growing them, because each will have its own features and qualities and each will need to be planted and maintained differently. There are simple plants and more complex ones, and so as a beginner you should stick with the basics, those which are easier to grow and take care of, and then add some of the more difficult ones in after you have had some gardening experience.
Remember that warm season vegetables, such as tomatoes, squash and peppers, are best when bought from a local nursery, at least until you become more skilled, and they are best planted in late May and early June. Another prime time of year for planting is August, and this is when your winter vegetables come in.

Good tips! i have mostly a container one because of my dogs. getting confuses with soils and compost, bought soil for a new rose and now need compost for seeds so its back to the garden center.
