Advice on watering sought

Hello,

I have bought 2 potted plants, but being the practical person I am, I've got no idea how to water them. I tried to identify them online, but there seems to be to much plants on me.

So I would be grateful if you help me identify them and advice on watering.

Specifically, can I water them in a batch-like manner, i.e. letting the water pour through until it fills even the round tray under the pot?

Anything other is welcome, though I really am no expert, so I am going just for basic maintenance.

Pictures are here (high-res versions if you need more detail):

Thanks.

Insufficient and excessive watering are among many reasons a plant might fail despite what seem like pampered conditions. In some cases, pampering may be precisely the problem.Water serves as an important transport medium, allowing nutrients to travel from soil to plant cell. But too much water in the soil layer forces air from the root zone, reducing the plant’s oxygen supply.Unfortunately, there is no simple rule dictating how often houseplants should be watered.
Stem and leaf wilt signal dehydration where as growth of fungi or mold on the soil surface is the sign of over watering.
Put no more than 1/4 inch of water in the plant saucer. Water again when approximately 2/3 of the pot mixture has dried out.
