Question all natural insect repellant

As of late I have had an insect problem in my back yard and I have been getting chewed up but I dont have any idea on what the little pests are. Do any of you have any suggestions for some all natural insect repellants?

Any feedback would be much appreciated

How about attracting some swallows by putting up nest boxes and a birdbath?

that sounds like a great idea, but I live in a more urban area, and there arent many trees or birds around. Do you have any other suggestions?

If you were looking for a lotion or spray, i would recommend Gardeners Armor, It is like a 4 in one barrier cream. It not only will protect you from bug bites, but it also protects against the suns rays, poison ivy, and makes it easier to scrub dirt off of yourself after you are done gardening. If you are interested in taking a closer look at it, here is a link to their website
