I hope that I'm allowed to mention my interactive UK garden plant advice CD-ROM which runs on PC & MACs.

I decided to make the plant database after working as a cameraman on the BBC Sir David Attenborough's 'The Private Life Of Plants' series.
I realised how little I knew about gardening and thought I'd get a team of Authors and programmers to make a visual plant database encyclopaedia that you can search for plants by any combination of colour, height, aspect, hardiness, soil type, month / season and name. Click search and the best plants to suit the requirements are displayed within seconds.

It's taken quite a few years to produce and is proving popular with garden enthusiasts of all levels including Garden Designers and Students.
(Though it was originally aimed at the garden novice)
I'm now trying to let people know that such a plant resource exists.
It is designed for the UK gardener - though we have had interest from most parts of the World BUT I do say it's British made and the plants might not be suitable for you if you're outside the UK.
If I am permitted to give the software a plug I'll be delighted to tell you more about it, but I know that garden forums such as this can take a dim view if people just want to sell their goods, so I'll await the administrators permission.

Although the interactive, visual plant database was originally designed for the garden novice, I'm very pleased to see that Garden Designers as well as students find the CD-ROM a useful plant resource.

With sales coming in, we will soon be adding to the plant collection so that it covers an even wider range of plants and advice
