Stranger in the fencerow
A few years ago, when we divided my iris, I gave most of the extras away, and threw the rest out in the fence row.
Some of them lived, which wasn't surprising, but what did surprise me was the "stranger" in their midst...a copper colored beauty that is not like anything I had before. All I can think of is that it must have reverted to one of it's "parents". I know that's not the right term...what is it you call the originals that are bred together to achieve a hybrid? |
