Thumbs up More idea about Organic garden!!

Friends,
There are more info about organic garden. Hope it is going to help you.
Organic gardening is not exactly a modern invention and has been around for some time to come. The ancient Romans had tinkered a bit with Organic farming and so had the Sumerians, we are just reinventing the wheel as far as Organic garden goes. The very term should give one an idea as to what this is all about, It is more or less built around the concept of ‘feeding the soil to feed the plant’.
Today, we realize the value of soil nutrients, nitrogen and fertilizers and we use these in our farming methods, and call it as organic farming. Basically it is all about avoiding the usage of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified organisms. All that one uses for Organic farming is anything and everything that is natural, like green manure, compost, biological pest control as opposed to chemical pest control and cultivation of the soil so as to maintain soil productivity as opposed to adding chemicals to the soil to do the same. This is Organic farming in a nutshell.

One of my favorite organic garden tips is this one. The most important thing you can do to control pests in the organic garden is to keep the soil healthy. Healthy soil produces healthy plants. Healthy plants, like healthy humans, are better able to withstand disease.

A second helpful organic garden idea I like is to control pests with ladybirds (ladybugs). These beautiful little red insects with shiny black spots control aphids naturally and totally. You can order them from several organic garden places on the Internet. Until they arrive, spray every part of aphid-infested plants with well diluted soapy water. Rinse with clear water.

My third favorite organic gardening idea is to plant guardian plants around and among tender vegetables. Marigolds make the organic garden border colorful, and ward off many pests. Onions and garlic are also great deterrents to pests that would like to break in and steal organic produce.

To test the benefits of organic gardening, I constructed two identical raised beds. Both began with carefully prepared soil and were planted with seeds and seedlings from the same source. I tended one bed organically, using compost for fertility. On the other, I used that well-known blue synthetic fertilizer. I did not use pesticides of any kind on either bed. In both beds, I controlled pests by hand-picking and by hosing off the plants.

The non-organic bed had an initial burst of growth, but it seemed to attract aphids and ants. The plants in the organic bed soon caught up and surpassed the chemically fertilized plants and had far fewer pest problems. Also, in the chemical bed, the pH increased a great deal, so I must now lower it.

I harvested more and better veggies from the organic bed, and I continue to say, 'Those who know, garden organically; all others can be taught.'"

Why is it important to make any effort at organic pest control when there are so many insecticides and traps that work just as well? The basic reason is that insecticides do not degrade naturally in the environment, and it means that you are spraying poison on the food products that your family is going to be eating at harvest time.

Additionally, conventional insecticides are not selective in the pests that they control. This means that you are not only killing the troublesome pests, but also the beneficial insects who, left to their own devices, will do a pretty good job of taking care of infestations for you. So, get rid of all of the poisonous controls in your garage or shed, and change your mindset.

For beginners, it’s very important for you to consider flowers that will grow well in your area. Location is another major aspect which must be taken under consideration. The location of your flower garden will mainly depend upon the different varieties of flowers that you have decided to plant in your garden.

Soil is another thing which plays a vital role. If your soil is sandy, you must add compost and peat moss. Addition of compost and peat moss will make your soil moisturized and it will also enable your soil to hold moisture very well

You must plant combination of annuals and perennials flowers together. This will ensure that your flower garden will blossom through out the year. Perennials are flowers for all seasons while annuals will blossom in a particular season.

You must add some beneficial insects in your garden such as butterflies, beetles and bees. These insects are important for pollination. In order to get rid of some other insects which are harmful for flowers, you must add mantis, dragonflies, ladybugs and other in your flower garden.

Last important thing concerning flower gardening is the appearance of your garden. Color scheming is most important when It comes to the appearance of your garden.

Organic gardening is far more advantageous because you get to eat the plant you grow in a natural way. All I need is to do a little research to avoid pests that would harm my little farm. A good soil, water and proper maintenance is only my routine. I even grow them indoors..

Organic gardeners use compost, companion planting, cultural strategies, mechanical barriers, physical controls, biological controls, and organically acceptable sprays to grow plants without harmful chemicals. When used correctly, organic gardening methods can exceed the efficacy of conventional chemicals in your vegetable, flower, or herb garden. You can enjoy organic gardening all year by applying organic principles to your houseplants, greenhouse, or hydroponic garden.

The benefits of organic gardening extend beyond flora to the fauna in the garden, so learn to attract bees, birds and butterflies to your yard; get kids into the garden; and get pets and wildlife pests out of the garden.
