Garden rooms?
One thing that always catches my attention when looking at garden photos are those that consist of places to sit and relax to enjoy your hard work. With non stop rain over the past month I've had to get inventive to keep up my gardening enthusiasm. I've poured over seed selections. Planned many companion plantings (fruit, veggies and flowers). Sowed all that I can indoors and now I've turned my focus to being able to enjoy watching all those new plants once transplanted outdoors.
I bought and assembled a new frame for my wooden swing. I bought and assembled the most precious old time wagon with the old fashion steel wheels to place containers in for a beautiful spring arrangement. I finally assembled a really nice wrought iron park bench with a nice butterfly motif for my front porch. My favorite addition is a huge gazebo that DH bought me last year for my birthday. My sons finally got it 90% assembled............the rain put that project on hold. It is big and beautiful. Okay, so now that I have all of this lawn decor I want to set things up in such a way that no matter what area of the lawn you're in there will be a place to sit and enjoy but I'm not sure how. My biggest concern is dealing with the grass and weeds amongst all this stuff. I'm beginning to think that I'll be spending alot of time doing some serious paving or mulching under the swings, benches, arbors and such. Any and all suggestions and advice welcomed and appreciated. Prayers for a break in the rain would be helpful as well. |
