hmmmm that is interesting!....I water the whole plant and that is what my plant looks like. I will try watering just the soil.

One issue you could be having is your female flowers may not get pollinated! Next time you see a female flower open, artificially pollinated it! Take a small paintbrush and rub it lightly on the male flower to pick up some pollen. Once you have a fair amount of pollen on the brush rub it on the stamen of the female flower. That might help out a lot! I also live in zone 9, and here in Central Florida we get a lot of rain so there is no avoiding getting water on the entire plant, but my friends have had great success with Zucchini and I am starting to see some with my first planting!

dumb question..but how do I know the difference between male and female flowers?

Not a dumb question at all... But it is one that is simple to answer...
Male flowers look just like a flower, female flowers have a mini-zucchini under the flower Male ![]() Female
