Flora Grubb Gardens
This content is syndicated via RSS from the blog: Caribbean Garden
On my trip to San Francisco in April my friend Barak (yes, his name has finally come in after 32 years!) and I visited the wonderful Flora Grubb Gardens Opened just a year ago, this is a well reviewed and featured Garden Center, by garden designer Flora Grubb. The use of dry climate plants is amazing, the staff very knowledgeable and I picked up anything that was “tote-able” and non-perishable. There is also a coffee shop on site. Beautiful ideas for drought tolerant and easy care landscaping abound: A gorgeous succulent planter greets you ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Aloe striata-you see this all over San Francisco ![]() I want this cool looking aloe! ![]() ![]() ![]() Agave attenuata ![]() Stunning aloe ![]() For those who still think succulents aren't beautiful and interesting ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edsel as giant planter ![]() Lovely and tasteful containers ![]() ![]() ![]() Why do most people in the tropics relegate aloes and agaves to a barren, dusty corner of their yard where nothing else can survive, and give that section no care, rather than appreciate the dramatic and sculptural form of well cared plants? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Read more at Caribbean Garden... |

I've read about this garden center in a few different places now and I'm so looking forward to checking it out for myself. I'm not sure when I'm going to get over to San Francisco but it's definitely on my wish list. The plants look beautiful and interesting, as does the shop itself. I love how she's made it a destination with the coffee shop in house. You don't even need the excuse of shopping to stop by and enjoy the scenery for a bit.
